Renewable Energy Power........

Mongolia eyes renewable energy as climate warms

Mongolia, which is banking on a mining-led investment boom to develop its economy, is aiming to turn itself into a regional renewable energy hub as it tries to fight off the pressures of global warming, the country's president said. "Mongolia is regarded as one of the centres of this region for wind power. We have high mountains and the Gobi. We have great potential to generate power," president Tsakhia Elbegdorj told reporters.
"We have some ideas of how Mongolia can be Asia's super grid for wind power and solar power, and other renewable energies. If we use all the wind power (potential) in the country, we can enhance the energy supply of China and all over Asia."
Mongolia was chosen to host the U.N.'s World Environment Day on June 5, and at a news conference to mark the occasion, officials said the country also planned to better regulate a mining sector that is polluting an already fragile environment.

The mining sector, with dozens of projects in coal, gold, copper and iron ore, has helped the country to record one of the highest rates of economic growth, at 12.3 per cent last year and 17.5 per cent in 2011. But land around the country is being dug up by both licensed and unlicensed miners, causing pollution and poisoning some lakes and rivers.
"There are some countries that developed their resources in good ways, and Mongolia wants to be one of those countries by learning from others, building relations and introducing new policies," Elbegdorj said.

The World Bank ranked the capital, Ulan Bator, among the world's most polluted cities during winter, a consequence mostly of coal burned by residents to stave off temperatures often reaching -30 degrees Celsius (-22 Fahrenheit). Mongolia is suffering "more pasture degradation, permafrost thawing, and glacial melt", Sanjaasuren Oyunm, minister of environment and green development, told Reuters. Achim Steiner, head of the U.N. Environment Programme told Reuters during a visit this week that Mongolia had seen average temperatures rise 2.1 degrees Celsius (3.8 F) in the past 60 to 70 years - about three times faster than the global average. Its high altitude and sparse vegetation in many regions made the nation vulnerable.

The government hopes to use tax revenue from mining to promote other businesses such as fine cashmere production. Environment Minister Oyun said she was introducing new environmental regulations, including obliging companies to pay compensation for the use and consumption of non-extracted resources such as water and timber. She said money would go to communities where those resource were consumed, with a portion dedicated to environmental issues such as reforestation or repair of mined lands.

My Comment :

Mongolia have take drastic action to fight off the pressure of global warming as they are located at the wind power region and know their potential to generate the renewable power. They also planning for more better regulation of mining sector. The reason behind of the renewable power plan because of soil pollution and poisoning some lakes and rivers. Besides that, they also suffering from the permafrost thawing, glacial melt. Therefore, if Mongolian Government implement the plan of the renewable energy they will get profit through supplying the generating power to China and all over Asia as they are located at strategic place on the world map. It is like killing two bird with a stone.
Thank You.............

Smoking ???

More schoolchildren than ever are trying cigarettes, with many getting their fix from their parents' supplies, according to new research.
The report from the Schools Health Education Unit shows trends in young people's attitudes to smoking between 1983 and 2001.
The findings reveal that 40 per cent of 12 to 13-year-old admitted they had tried cigarettes in 2001. This rose to 60 per cent among 14 to 15-year-old.
That compares to 30 per cent of 12 to 13-year-old in 1990 and 57 per cent of 14 to 15- year-old.
Twenty-two per cent of 14 to 15-year-old girls and around 6 per cent of 12 to 13-year-old girls report smoking regularly. Smoking during teenage years increases the risk of lung cancer, even if the smoker stops. Girls and women who smoke are particularly at risk of breast cancer and osteoporosis.
Of the 299,543 young people questioned, more than half lived in a home where at least one person smoked. Some of the children surveyed got their cigarettes from parents or older siblings, while others shared the cost of a packet.
Dr David Regis, research manager at the unit, says the increase in the number of children experimenting with smoking was a concern.
He says, 'This is more than just trying a cigarette. The rise in those experimenting with smoking has been matched by an increase in regular smokers as well.
'If an increase in experimentation was all that it was - it would be no problem. But some of them do go on to regular smoking and then start a habit which may go on for years and the health consequences are very serious.'
Three-quarters of young smokers want to kick the habit. This proportion has remained static over the years despite Government campaigns to discourage smoking.
If any young person wants to give up smoking, you can do this with help and support on No Smoking Day tomorrow. See www.nosmokingday.org.uk for more information.

My Comment :
In my opinion, schoolchildren or teenager should not trying to smoke at their younger time. As we can see, the report from the Schools Health Education Unit shows trends in young people's attitudes to smoking between 1983 and 2001 are increasingly high. Hence, compare to the 30% of 12 to 13 years old are most commonly admitted that they have tried cigarettes in 2001. It gradually rising up to 60% among teens that age 14 to 15 years-old. The main factor that teen are wanted to trying to smoke because of they are smoking was a concern and the teen are getting their money from their parent fixed. Another factor is influence from friend and no surveillance from their parents. The parent should take several precautionary action to curb this problem. First, the parent should observe their kids befriending with and they have to set a as a role model to their children not smoking in front of them. Besides that, parent should control in giving the money to their children.

Please Do Not Disturb........ (Part 2)

Hai everyone, finally we meet again.
After a busy week now I have time to post new entry. I’m sure that you all wondering why privacy is so important to us nowadays. As we live in the 21st century, hectic modern lifestyles make our privacy is more exposed than before which is the world is at your clicks. You can browse any information regarding any issues 24/7 weeks any time and anywhere you like.

Privacy, why does it important to us? There is no simple answer to this question since million of people are now living in this digital era, people are hunger for information. It is a basic human interest to know what they do not really know about something new to them. Okay, back to our topic, why privacy is vital to us because first it is to protect people interest in competitive situations. For an example, company A wanted to have secret recipe from the company B, so the company be should have a privacy and substantial or seclusion to prevent company A to get company B secret recipe.

Besides that, some cases may want to keep some aspect of his life or behaviour in private because it will be shame on him or her or being alienated by the society. The splendid example like, when we kids we may have nude picture or video so, we have keep it as a private thing to us in order not to make us embarrass to the other people.
On the other hand, Roger Clarke categorized the importance of privacy into several divisions which are;-

  • ·       Psychologically. People need private space. This applies in public as well as behind closed doors and drawn curtains. We need to be able to glance around, judge whether the people in the vicinity are a threat, and then perform actions that are potentially embarrassing, such as breaking wind, and jumping for joy;
  • ·        Sociologically. People need to be free to behave, and to associate with others, subject to broad social mores, but without the continual threat of being observed. Otherwise we reduce ourselves to the appalling, inhuman, constrained context that was imposed on people in countries behind the Iron Curtain and the Bamboo Curtain;
  • ·        Economically. People need to be free to innovate. International competition is fierce, so countries with high labour-costs need to be clever if they want to sustain their standard-of-living. And cleverness has to be continually reinvented;
  • ·        Politically. People need to be free to think, and argue, and act. Surveillance chills behaviour and speech, and threatens democracy.
    So guys we need to take precaution action in order to protect you from being embarrass as you have learned why and what is privacy. That’s all for today. Thank you for spending time to read this article.

Please Do Not Disturb..........(Part 1)

Hello everyone. I’m back
Yes definitely me. Not other people but just only me. As you all can see my title was given is all about the privacy. This entry will talk about privacy. Everyone has their own privacy right? And do you know what privacy is? Just let me inform you about what privacy are all about.

According to Oxford dictionary definition of privacy, it is a state in which one is not observed or disturbed by other people. For example, she returned to the privacy of her own home. Other than that, privacy also defined as a state that one is being free from the public attention. Example, a law restrict newspapers freedom to invade people privacy. Synonym to the privacy is secrecy, solitude or seclusion. ‘Privacy’ is an abstract and contentious notion.

On the contrary, privacy is the interest that individuals have in sustaining a ‘personal space’, free from interference by other people and organization as defined by the Roger Clarke, 2006. There were 4 categories of privacy which is privacy of the person, privacy of personal behaviour, privacy of personal communication, and privacy of personal data. First, privacy of personal means people are concerned about their integrity of their body such as blood donation. They need to get consent from the owner of their body.

Next, is privacy of personal behaviour means all activities that related to person behaviour such as preferences, sexual appearance, political and religious practices, both in private or public places. Sometime it refers to the ‘media privacy’. Usually public figure and professionals’ people are not exception from this type of privacy. Besides that, privacy of personal communication refers to an interest to communicate with other people around them without any restriction or regulation among themselves using various social media network.

Lastly, privacy of personal data is all about an individual claims that data about themselves should not be automatically available to other individual and organization. The person may have substantial control over his personal data information about themselves. Sometime it is referred to as a ‘data privacy’ or ‘information privacy’.
